New Zealand Exchange

A FAQ sheet was sent home on 15 Mar 12 regarding the NZ Exchange to help answer some questions that have been received. The FAQ is at the following link: http://goo.gl/cxVbg

RCSCC Fraser

Founded in 1942, Fraser has served the communities of New Westminster, Burnaby and Delta for 70 years. The aim of the program is to instil attributes of positive Canadian Citizenship, physical fitness and leadership in youth ages 12-18. We participate in a food drive that donates 2000lbs to the food bank annually, clean up trash and rehabilitate wildlife habitat through events such as Queensweep, participate in Remembrance Day and Battle of the Atlantic parades honouring Canadian veterans, and march in civic parades such as Hyack Festival and chirstmas parades.

School Strike Work Party

With Fraser cadets having a few unexpected days off this week due to the teacher strike, we would like to invite our cadets to join us on Wednesday, March 7 from 0900 to 1500 to help out maintaining our facility.  This time slot is the usual time that the Navy League Branch volunteers are down building and upgrading the buildings and grounds. They could use our help and if you're available, we would love to see you.

Please click this link and let us know if you're coming!

Cypress Mountain Snow Tubing

Thanks to our fantastic parent volunteer drivers, 56 Cadets, Parents and Friends hit the slopes for an afternoon of fun for a cause at Cypress Mountain Tube Park today. Cypress staff took great care of our group, spinning solo tubers or groups of cadets down the bumpy track. The event was the kickoff to our fundraising effort for the New Zealand Exchange. We are proud to announce that over $400 has been added to the fund and is a successful beginning to our $85,000 goal. One exciting event down, and many more to come!

PO1 Tsang to represent British Columbia

Biathlon BC announced this afternoon that PO1 Louisa Tsang is
representing BC to compete at the Biathlon National Championships at
Valcartier, QC between March 13rd and 18th. The civilian national
championships are immediately after the cadet nationals at Martock,
NS. She is one of the three cadets attending the civilian nationals.
The other 2 cadets are one sea cadet from Capt. Vancouver and one air
cadet from West Bank, Kelowna. BZ PO Tsang and Good Luck!

Cypress Mountain Snow Tubing

RCSCC Fraser will be hitting the slopes of Cypress Mountain on Saturday, February 18.  In our first fundraising event for our New Zealand Exchange, we have encouraged the cadets to invite their friends and family to join us for an afternoon of snow tubing. This will be a great opportunity for our cadets to have some social time as a cadet while trading in parade boots for snow boots.

The warning order is now posted and we are looking for parent volunteers to help get everyone up to the mountain. Please send us an email if you are able to help out.  We look forward to seeing everyone for a good time up at Cypress!

New Zealand Exchange

New Zealand Cadet Forces CrestIn 2010, cadets from the New Zealand Cadet Forces visited RCSCC Fraser on a three week exchange to Canada. It is very exciting to announce that FRASER will conduct its reciprocal exchange visit in April 2013.

The pinnacle of the exchange will be participation in the annual ANZAC Day ceremony held April 25. ANZAC Day is akin to Remembrance Day in Canada and honours members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who fought at Gallipoli in the Ottoman Empire during World War I.
